Aden's 2nd birthday happens today! Although the terrible two's seemed to have popped up around 18 months, Aden is in another angelic stage where he is cute as can be. I guess I have a whole year to experience the wonderful tug-of-war between a two year old and their independence.
Aden's party was a blast and he loved all of the attention. Here are some pics:
The party's themes were The Wiggles and Barney
From left to right (an 8 month pregnant Andrea (Christy's best friend), Aden's Grandmother, myself, and Aden baby)
Pinata time! See those raisins fly out.
Time for cake. Homemade, yummy, and peanut free.
A man who likes frosting, my kind of guy!
Aden's Grandmother (Gra-Ra) and I take Aden around the block in his new golf cart from Christmas.
Aden loves to vaccum so he got his own. Yesterday he told me, "Aden clean, Nanny go play." Wow, role reversal. This could be fun.
I bought Aden a solar powered cash register. Pretend play here we come. No batteries required either.
Last but not least, Brush Your Teeth Barney.

I was lucky to be hostess for my In-Laws this weekend. We had a great time. Here are some pics:
It took Jessica 2 1/2 hours to drive from San Francisco to our house on Friday night. That was exactly how long it took David, Ellen, and Walter to drive from Fresno. Crazy Bay Area! Jessica enjoyed hours of the Gamecube while teaching her father the ins and outs of MarioKart.
Walter and David enjoyed our cozy fire. We use recycled coffee ground logs that are more eco friendly than wood. They are warming up next to the fire because they spent the day touring San Francisco with Jessica and Garrett.
A great dinner together. There was only one "burnt" incident, but hey we are still newlyweds.
Andrew and David traveled down the road to take some pictures. Here are some of the pictures:

Happy 3rd Birthday Rocket. We love you bunches. Teenie is partying with Gracie, Peggy, and LuLu to celebrate the occasion. Dog treats are being handed out by the handful in your name.
Have a great birthday week. Hopefully your mom will spend more time with you instead of those puppies!!!

P.S. This picture is from our second rental in Livermore!

Out with the old Shannon:
And in with the new!
LuLu and I had our first dog training lesson in our home today. The trainer is great. She and I see eye-to-eye on dog training techniques. LuLu did great and really enjoyed getting lots of snacks. We are starting off by teaching Lu how to "calm" so she can relax and not be so rigid. Once we get her calm, we will work on "sit-stay" (she already knows how to sit so well) and "down."
It is official, I have ruined Teenie. The trainer banned me from carrying my dogs around like babies. She says I have taught Teenie dependence and we are going to work on building their independence. Okay, so maybe human children sound more fun now. At least you get to carry them around for a couple of years! I now have to give all of my loving attention sitting down or on the floor. Maybe I will sweep more often this way.
I will keep you posted on our progress.
