10am-10pm

 Things that happened today (in order):

* Piled all kids in car and drove 15 minutes to Office Depot to return a clock
* Everyone got out to assist with my return
* Put my head down when I realized I had forgotten my wallet at home
* Put everyone back into minivan
* Drove home
* Came home to find out I had left the front door wide open
* Wondered if I had lost my mind
* Drove back to Office Depot
* Returned stupid clock
* Stopped by a new donut shop
* Went to Lowe's to buy (wood stain, brackets, and garden soil)
* Drove home and two of my three kids fell asleep

*Planted some plants I  had been dying to plant (peonies!!!)
* Started digging up bushes I didn't like

* Put disliked bushes on craigslist and got rid of them in 45 minutes

*Gave two kids baths because one had an accident and the baby had jelly donut in her hair
(one donut hole - I swear the kids get rationed even when I don't)
*Made my kids all get back into the minivan to head to a local nursery to fill empty holes in my garden

*Kids & mommy were hungry so we stopped at Ivars for some fish & chips and chicken strips.

* Stopped by a veggie/fruit stand that has excellent reviews on Yelp.
(wasn't too impressed with it)

*Brushed teeth, nursed baby, put jammies on, read a story, sighed with relief when I walked downstairs
* Relaxed while looking at contemporary landscaping porn on Google Images
* Rigged up a system to keep the water dispenser from tipping over in the chicken box
* Fretted because that may just strangle a chicken overnight
* Stained wood project
* Wrote blog post

::sigh::

Saturday.

Eye Wish

I found this blog as I was checking out decorating ideas on that darn world wide web.  I want Mary, from Quite Contrary, as my Mormon sister so our daughters could be cousins.  I want so bad for Mormon mommies to welcome me into their family circles!  If Christ and I ever meet and join forces, that is the first place you will find me.  Right there, in Mary's adorable breakfast nook.

Locks

I took the kids exploring to the Seattle Locks today. I could spend all day watching the boats go up and down and in and out.

Bus Stops

Full weekend of ticking off "To-Do" lists. Andrew put in some good chicken coop building and I put in my orders for him to use power tools on some decorating projects. We went for a long walk to explore a bakery and pasta joint. The pasta place was being remodeled so we hopped on a bus to eat down the hill in a hipster neighborhood. It felt good to walk up and down hills.

Benched

I got a vintage piano bench off of craigslist today for $15.  I took off the cushion and covered it with a $2.50 piece of burlap sack from the chocolate factory in town.  Now, I have a rustic industrial seat for the desk in the guest room.  I am still trying to figure out what I am going to put on the walls in there.

Choc-Brary

Cities are great for hitting the library and then ducking into a sweet shop. After that, your kids can run around a skate park. Fun Friday.

I need this sign printed up for me with a flip chart of numbers

Okay, the count starts over today.

Reade At The Dentist

It was Reade's first trip to the dentist yesterday.  This is my favorite pediatric dental office so far and Reade had the best time.  First, they played video games and then they were led to their chairs.  A gift bag was waiting for them and then they got to pick out a new toothbrush from the drawer under their chair.  Dental visits are part birthday party, play date, and medicine.  I was just happy that my kids weren't the ones screaming in their chairs.

P.S. Reade has a double tooth on the bottom.  10 on top and nine on the bottom.  Guess he will be getting double the coinage for that sucker when it falls out.

Chores

Our travels were great and it was so good to see all the family in Sacramento.  We are back now, so I have been combing craigslist and the kids have been reconnecting with every toy in the house (especially the Legos).  They are happy to get back into the rhythm of farm chores.  They are in charge of helping daddy feed and change the chicken box.  Today, the chickens got a new home out of a wardrobe box.  Andrew is busy building the chicken coop outside so the kids' jobs are to decorate the inside of the beams with their artwork.  Pencils and chalk have left funny scribbles only chickens can understand.

Blake and Reade wanted to play in the chicken box before the bedding was put down:

Off to bed I go.  Tomorrow is dentist day.

Day to Wed

Our neighbors are getting married today.  I asked what kind of cake they were having and the response was, "Oh, I guess we should have a cake."  I told them I would make a cake in their honor.  I just walked it over this morning and am excited it is a day of bliss for them.

P.S. I wish I could airbrush out the blemishes!
