Trolleys

I ♥ library book carts. They were at the antique fair holding a vendor's books and we decided that would be a great bookshelf for us. The tricky part will be in finding one for sale that isn't brand new with a $400 price tag. I have called all of the local libraries, county surplus places, and re-purposing agencies in a 100 mile radius with no luck. I will have to start praying to the library gods now!

Alameda

The Alameda Point Antiques Fair was a sight to see. It is in a fun location and has very entertaining people to watch. I have never seen so many hipsters in my life. I tried taking spy shots of some of them, but they didn't turn out. Andrew wanted me to take a picture of the guy in a motorized wheel chair pulling a cart behind him so he can pull his treasures along with him. Some things you just have to leave up to the imagination.

My pictures don't represent all the cool things we saw at the Antique Fair. I was too busy hustling up and down rows to stop for pictures. If I had had a ride along cart I would have bought five or six big ticket items to resell on craigslist. Andrew was there to act as my voice of reason. I have been dreaming of opening my own Etsy shop.

October

Happy October. Time to get pumpkins. This year I decided to buy my pumpkins at CVS Pharmacy (large ones being $4.29/ea. and small ones being $1.69/ea.) and leaving the pumpkin patch for mere pleasure. Call me cheap. Call me practical. The pumpkins are in a vulnerable location so I don't want to feel bad if neighborhood riffraff hauls off with my squash:


My husband made homemade donuts for breakfast this morning. Good Lord they were/are delicious:

Once again, the Hursts have almost killed their pumpkin plants before a pumpkin ever got to grow. We have powdery mildew and Andrew has been trying to nurse these plants back to health. I have a sneaky suspicion that they will not make it simply because I live next to them. I have lost count at how many years we have been trying for pumpkins:


We are growing corn though:


I bought some shrimp plants (Pachystachys lutea) just because I liked the name. They seem happy:

Now, it is time to put away my party dresses in exchange for house cleaning clothes. Maybe I will get to put on a party dress to celebrate my friend's birthday tonight. Happy Birthday Skyla!!!

Man did I do a bad job of capturing the wedding on film. I thought everything was in focus, but once I downloaded the pictures I realized I forgot to turn on the flash so everything with any movement at all is blurry. Here are some pictures worth talking about.

The delicious wedding cake. We had a brunch over at the groom's house this morning and the groom's mom, I love you Karen, sent home a huge plate full of left over wedding cake. I will be working hard at spin class because of that:

What an event. I love how Andrew's family can come together and really make a party wild. I will upload the videos tomorrow so everyone can share in the fun times.
