Classroom decor?

Here is my new craigslist find. This chalkboard only set us back $10 and I figure I can change the artwork whenever I want. Cheaper in the long run? I am entertained and fascinated with blimps right now so this is a Shannon Hurst original.

Goodbye Grammie and Grandpa

Blake's Grammie and Grandpa just got on the road after a great four days together. We shopped, my father golfed, and ate great food. I can't believe how much I can get done with them around.

Can you say twins?

Here is a video of Blake walking his pull toys around. He has newsprint on his face from playing with the newspaper:

*For some reason the video didn't upload correctly so I have to wait until we are back before I can upload it again. Sorry.

Appointment

This is how I feel when I have to go to the doctor!

I saw my OB this morning to ask about the miscarriages. They are in fact called early miscarriages even though they happen so early. He said they can be common for breastfeeding mothers because the body knows where all of its energy should go. Instead of doing labwork (his only concern would be to make sure my thyroid is at a normal level) he sent me home with a prescription for vitamin D3, baby asprin (to increase blood flow to the uterus), and fish oil. I liked how he approached the issue because he said that as a woman I am meant to produce babies so he just wants me to get as healthy as possible to up the chances of my body functioning at a high, reproductive level. He also mentioned the importance of taking five minutes a day to meditate or relax. The realization that I don't get to plan everything in my life has been a tough lesson, but I finally get it. For the first time, I am at a place where I am excited to see what the future holds for me and I am willing to wait.

My parents are staying with us this week so I get to show my mom all the cool shopping in the area while my father golfs his heart out at Palo Alto courses.

Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive during all of my baby craziness. Sorry to those of you who would rather not hear about it!

TGIF

TGIF. It is 4pm and I am looking forward to the weekend. Today we have: hosted a brunch with neighbors, met with a friend for a play date in the park, napped (I quilted), and watered our garden. I can't believe it is only 4pm! For some reason, that hour before Andrew gets home is hard to get through. I don't want to add another activity in the mix nor will my child allow me to just sit around. Maybe we will walk to the mailbox? My child's favorite activity is to climb up on a small, plastic stool to observe the world of those 36" and taller. Nothing like finding the microwave reprogrammed to defrost 10 pounds of chicken in 45 minutes!

You may not appreciate this as much as I do, but my mandavilla vine has finally bloomed after a near-death drought in our last place.

Okay, I couldn't resist taking this picture while I was writing this post. I removed him, and his trusty stool, from the dangers of the kitchen and this is where he ended up. Good job Blake.

Nap Time

I can't stand seeing that exercise video (she's nuts) so I am going to post until it disappears off the page. Blake and I had a play date today with some friends who just got home from a month long vacation in NY. The stories she told me about the Brownstone stoop sales had me wishing I had been there. Before we met up with them, I made a dress for their little girl while Blake napped. Again, this pattern is one my Nana used. The fabric came from a child's kimono I picked up at a yard sale the other day (for 50 cents!). So it is now refashioned into a dress. It kind of screamed out fall to me and boy am I in the mood.

I love how Blake is peeking out the window to see what his crazy mama was doing. Don't mind the fact that he has to stand on top of his kid chair to do this.

Have You Exercised Today?

This website ( http://www.petuniafacedgirl.blogspot.com/ ) helped me realize why it is hard to stick to my workout plan. All I need to do is buy some white tights and act like a crazy woman. I by no means expect you to watch the whole video like I did. Time to stop blogging and actually pay attention to my child.
