Mom & Dad

My mom and dad arrived yesterday for a week of grand kid noise, er fun.  My mom loves Seattle and my dad is golfing a bit north of here.  We will see what he thinks when he gets back.  It is 70 degrees and sunny so the golf has to be great.  I think today is the last day of sun in the forecast.  

New Food

Tried out a new food truck place.  Super delicious.  

Hot Dogs

Took the kids to a hot dog joint then to Greenlake for some park play, lake viewing, and big tree play.  I gave Piper the raspberry on her head.  Our cement front steps are a new force to reckon with.

The Chore Chart has been instituted.  My response to Blake's incessant "please buy me these Legos" is always, "Go get a job."  Now he has jobs.

One of these gets $0.25 with a maximum of 6 chores a day.

Sweating Sugar

We celebrated my sister's birthday while she was in town.  I would love to say the boys made this cake, but I am the only one to blame for its sad shape.  The boys picked out the horrendous frosting.  It made all of us a bit sick to our stomachs.  I made Chris and Amy eat way too many sugary treats on the tour of Seattle.  I have to admit that even I felt nauseous at the sight of sugar the day after.  It has been veggies and fish (not dipped in batter and fried!!!) for us and I have done 30 minutes of spin on my spin bike for the past three nights.  I feel great!  What a difference a little spin does.  I guess I am getting ready for Piper's first birthday cake next week.

Beach Buds

Blake and his neighbor buddy hit the beach this afternoon.  Such fun hanging out in the beautiful weather. Neighbors trickled down come 5pm and there was beer and spirits and lots of kids.  This is what I am talking about!

Visitors

My sister and her boyfriend have been visiting for the weekend.  We have all enjoyed their company so much.  Andrew put Chris to work on the chicken coop.  We are seeing fun things around town.
